"Beyond the assessment of the role that the constitution had, it is now necessary to have the ability to question its basic concepts and procedures that are based on them to verify its adequacy to the reality in which we live and responsiveness to the need for democratic participation that the Constitution expresses. This query finds its focal point in the problem of plurality policy, which requires processes with evidence of incorporation of the European Union, where Member States do not intend to set aside their political dimension, but also in the state, where other groups, and new collective actors advance the request for participation policy is not resolved by the election procedures. We are then faced with the task of transformation of the constitution? On this issue, which now requires crucially, are measured, from a multidisciplinary perspective, the contributions collected in this volume. "
